I have the feeling that Karl Rove is playing Rope-a-Dope with the NY Slimes and the Washington Putz newspapers and the Democ-rats. Rove probably knew the leftist sympathizers in the intel community (or the Democrat members of the Intelligence Committees) would not be able to resist leaking selected portions of the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) report that would by themselves give the impression that the war in Iraq made terrorism worse, which conveniently dovetails with Democratic talking points right before the elections. It appears he let them to go out and run with it and then Bush comes back and releases the entire report to make them look like the fools they are. You go Karl!!! (Check out Captain Ed's post on the NIE)
.
The Republicans got the Dems to look bad on the interrogation debate and focused considerable media attention on terrorism by acting as if John McCain and Bush were at odds over interrogation and then the lefties and dhimmies fell all over themselves to support McCain against Bush. Then the rug is pulled out from under them when Saint John (according to the liberal media) and Bush the devil (according to Hugo) find middle ground and agree on a plan that the Dems will have a hard time opposing without looking weak on the war on terror, which is what Bush is focusing the election on.
.
Even if Rove is not the genius behind all this, it is still a “series of fortunate events” for Bush and the GOP.

The sheer hypocrisy of these two lunatics and the almost free ride they get from the media simply dumbfounds me. I understand the applause from the hall full of whack jobs in the UN General Assembly, but when I watch it reported with glee by BDS suffering "American" reporters I have to look away and shake my head in disgust. What defies logic is that Chavez blasts the UN as useless and because he bashes Bush, the UN delegates still applaud him. Sounds familiar...kind of like a gathering of Democrats.
I must admit I was heartened to see a couple Democrats take a moment to make the mental leap to understand that this was not just an attack on Bush but an attack on all Americans. It is no different than if Chavez burned or pissed on an American Flag. The outrage should be the same.
I will be amused to see what the media has to say when Charlie Rangel and Nancypelosifromsanfrancisco start their verbal abuse of President Bush again. Will they be portrayed as the hypocrites they are, or will they be shown as "heroic American statesmen" as some are trying to do now for their comments against Chavez? There are too many Democrats in Congress that are way "too cozy with Chavez" and have been suckered in with his anti-Bush rhetoric and "heating oil for votes" garbage. I'm glad to see poor people get the discounted oil, we just need to counter any gain Hugo would make by reminding people what a raving lunatic he is. He is in good company with fellow nutjob, Danny Glover. Check out the excellent post on Hugo and his use of CITGO to spread his propaganda and curry favor, which is 100% owned by Hugo since he now owns Venezuela, over at Hillaryneedsavacation!
In the future, I think the State Department needs to tightly restrict Chavez and Ahmadenijad's visa's and limit them to the UN grounds and their embassies or hotels and no freedom of movement to rabble rouse in Harlem or Harvard.
This reminds me of the infamous Citizen Genet, the French Ambassador who tried to undermine President George Washington's stance of neutrality in France's war with Britain by trying to interfere with elections and raise a private army and navy in America to help France. This interference in American politics didnt play well with the American people then, and I hope it doesn't play well now.

I just have to laugh when I see Ted Kennedy and his band of useful idiots like John Francois Kerry, Howard Dean, and "Dingy Harry" Reid rushing to the friendly microphones of their allies in the media proclaiming that "Bush is politicizing 9/11 and the War". These people have no shame for their hypocrisy. This is exactly what they have been doing for the last 4 years. Of course they waited until the public anger subsided a bit before they started their shameful undermining of public morale and support for a war most of them voted for when it was politically convenient for them. These fools and their media allies do not want us to "Remember 9/11" as the always eloquent Alexandra at All Things Beautiful (one of my favorite sites) recently encouraged her readers to do.
I urge you to also watch this video on YouTube, but be forewarned, it will both sadden and enrage you.
Any President in wartime has the responsibility to rally the nation and boost our morale, reminding us of "Why We Fight". Hollywood actually helped that cause back in WW2. An example is the series of films with that exact title that were directed by Frank Capra, Jr. who directed "It's a Wonderful Life". Some may call it propaganda, but America has the Right, and the Duty to tell our side of the story. Our enemies have no hesitation in telling theirs, aided and abetted by a willing and gullible media. I offer up the ongoing Reuters missile strike on an ambulance "faux-tography' scandal as exhibit number one. Exhibit two is none other than "Green Helmet Man", the Hizb'allah propaganda master, and his despicable use of a child's body for propaganda purposes that was eagerly siezed upon by the media.
The only reason the hypocritical Democrats cry foul when they think President Bush is "politicizing" the War, is because they know their Achilles heel is national security. They can, and will, continue to undermine the war effort by dragging down on our morale with their doom and gloom so the President has nothing to lose by taking them on in a full frontal assault. I applaud him for stepping up and confronting these cowards on national television.
Former NYC Mayor Ed Koch (D) today reminded us of previous moments in our history when things looked bleak. He recalls the winter in Valley Forge when George Washington faced bitter criticism from the Continental Congress yet stood firm in his resolve in what is now a historical display of leadership and strength. That President "stayed the course" and his leadership eventually brought us to victory. Koch also recalls the Battle of Britain, where Britain stood alone against Hitler after the defeat and/or surrender of all the other nations in Europe. Winston Churchill rallied the British people with his numerous radio broadcasts, telling them that they could and would win and defend their country. Can you imagine British politicians taking to the airwaves saying the kind of defeatist crap our Democrat (and some spineless RINO's) are saying now? Well, there was at least one, William Joyce, aka Lord Haw-Haw, but he was convicted of treason and hung.
The majority of leading Democrats, Joe Lieberman and Ed Koch and a select few excepted, seem to think that undermining the war effort by creating a sense of despair and hopelessness is an acceptable practice. Yes, I said UNDERMINING THE WAR EFFORT. A key part of a successful war strategy of any nation-state is to be able to maintain public support of that effort and to convince its citizens that they can and will win the struggle and help maintain their will to fight. Our supposedly "loyal opposition" either does not have the capacity to understand this concept, or they choose not to in the interests of advancing their political fortunes. For this I pity and despise them.
Memo to President Bush: I would like to echo the sentiments of one of the rescue workers in New York City after 9/11 who shouted out the following while you stood atop the rubble with the bullhorn in hand, "Go get 'em George!".

This post is from guest columnist, Mark Levin. The one from North Carolina....
.
I have always had some fun pointing out various foibles among so called African-American "leaders" like Al Sharpton and Je$$e Jack$on, but an article in this past Sunday's N.Y. Times really says it all.
Now bear in mind the author is a literate, educated American woman of African descent.
She is an author and the Times deems her serious enough and a bright enough intellectual light to give her column space in the "SundayStyles" section. They are not reporting on a madwoman ranting at a protest or a Georgia congresswoman . . . this is a guest columnist in the New York Times.
.
On page 9, above the fold, Ms. Kim McLarin authored the piece "Race Wasn't an Issue to Him, Which Was an Issue to Me".
.
Apparently Ms. McLarin, a middle-aged divorced woman, formerly married to a white man, met a new wonderful man - also white, who liked her and cared about her. He was a social worker who worked with troubled kids - a stout chap by anyone's measure.
.
She struggled with giving him a chance (Struggled? Reverse racism perhaps? Hmmmm) and when she did date him she discovered a major racial problem between them . . . race didn't matter to him.
.
In her world, not being a racist is a problem, worse, it is a sign of racism.
.
(Not a typo, you read it right. If you are bewildered, you KNOW you read it right).
.
She relented and went out with him only to find out he was sincere and followed through - her color didn't matter. But there WAS a problem. You see, because her color didn't matter she couldn't be with him.
.
Her rationale? Life is like what James Baldwin wrote: "being Black in America is like walking around with a pebble in your shoe. Sometimes it scarcely registers and sometimes it shifts and becomes uncomfortable".
.
Let me translate: White America is so obsessed with race that Black people can't stop thinking about race. Confused yet? If things are going smoothly, whip out that pebble and remind yourself it shouldn't be going smoothly. If good stuff persists, crawl back in your small, paranoid little hole and imagine you have a problem so the anger and the separation can be fed thus making you distant and irrational and when people notice you are not functioning, voila, they are racists.
.
Got that?
.
As Ms. McLarin described the problems in her marriage to a white man "My ex did not grapple with race, . . this difference was small but a steady river that ran between us, the more he ignored it the more I clawed at the banks the larger the river swelled".
.
In other words, she did her damndest to see a problem that wasn't there and didn't need to be there.
McLarin's closing remarks sums it up nicely: A Black person who grapples with race cannot be with a white person who doesn't (grapple with race).
Bottom line according to her: It is mandatory that Black Americans be pissed, remain pissed, ignore efforts that negate their being pissed and above all else, stay away from people who aren't enabling your "piss-dom". Being angry should be your fuel and what your life revolves around and getting close to someone who proves you are wrong about being angry is not a healthy thing . . . move on.
.
If a woman of letters not only feels this way but it so convinced she has found a core truth and trumpets it across the pages of the New York Times, is it any wonder less educated, less sophisticated "Blacks in America" believe they "battle racism every day of their life"? This doesn't make it so, but it helps to explain the neurosis.
.
Ms. McClarin, do us all, and yourself, a great big favor: bend over and simply pull the friggin' pebble out of your shoe. You'll find the street we call 21st century America a very nice place to take a stroll.
