Ok, this really takes the cake. An Arab group is suing the federal government for not properly protecting US citizens in Lebanon? How about suing Hizb'Allah? How about suing the government of Lebanon for not providing the security that is required of a soveriegn nation? How about suing Syria and Iran? The US embassy reported that only about 20% of the US citizens in Lebanon had even registered with them prior to the Israeli counter-offensive against Hizb'Allah. Recent news reports show that most Americans who wanted out are out and that there are troop ships standing by to help any stragglers. If you ask me, the ingrates who are complaining should feel lucky they are citizens of a country that can do what we have done. I was initially opposed to charging people for rescuing them from Lebanon but this is making me reconsider. Michelle Malkin has more.
This is not about protection of citizens.. It is meant to interfere with our support of Israel as you can glean from this excerpt from an AP report.
The committee is asking the U.S. District Court in Detroit to order the U.S. government to request a cease fire and to stop shipments of weapons or any other military support to Israel (emphasis mine) during the evacuation of U.S. citizens from Lebanon.
"We just feel the U.S. government has put its citizens at risk by supplying missiles when many U.S. citizens are still there," said Nabih Ayad, lead lawyer for the committee and the citizens who were all in Lebanon. Ayad said a few included in the lawsuit are still trying to leave the country.
Ok, and just how long do you suppose this "evacuation" period will drag on if we were foolish enough to go through with this harebrained request? The Feds should start checking these clowns out, if they are not already. These useful idiots are probably stooges for Syria and Iran. This is all about stopping the resupply of Israel and has nothing to do with civilian lives. Even UN Humanitarian Chief Jan Egelund has called them cowards, if you can believe that! Hizb'Allah considers them all martyrs. Nice of them to make that decision for everyone.
This is a farce and should be dismissed on summary judgment.
It makes you wonder who is funding this lawsuit....
